Never understood why people pay full UK prices for global services like Netflix. Just setup a Netflix account as if your based in another country and then pay for it using giftcards.

Turkish Netflix Premium for instance is about £5.70 a month, you pay for it with TL giftcards purchased from the usual game-key shops.

There is a chance it might be clamped down in the future, but if so the max you would lose is a £6 giftcard.

I had it as an add-on with my Sky package, but I found it difficult to find things to watch, so I ditched it when Sky hiked their prices.

I have found different countries have different content. In Spain for example my old netflix package was missing a lot of UK content.
I imagine much of the content will be Turkish and it won't have the full range. US Netflix for example has different things to the UK one.

You get the content for the connection location (country) your currently viewing it in. For example if you use a VPN and connect, you get the content for the VPN location, not where the account is based.

So if you were in Spain when you watched Netflix you would get the Spanish Netflix content, but if you connected with a UK VPN, you would get the UK content, American VPN, American content, etc.

We have Netflix but only because it is included in our Virgin bundle. Rarely find anything to watch on it. Been mostly watching Prime TV recently. Had Paramount + for a month and found that doesn't have a deep package of stuff I like. We get Disney+ from a family member but haven't watched that for months either. Too many providers and not enough content really I think.

I quit netflix the moment they stopped sharing. Thought about signing up again recently to see they wanted £11 😱 I will never pay £11 for Netflix.
Have to say you definitely summed up the problem with too much content and I hate starting to watch a show and it be dubbed (most annoying thing ever!!).

I am plenty happy watching and sharing Disney, prime and paramount
I canceled Netflix for the same reason. Recently, I was searching for alternates and found that you can get a Netflix account for less than £1.
I was surprised and checked the blog, which said with a VPN, you can explore different Netflix prices, and the cheapest rates are offered in Turkey and Pakistan.

What you need to do is get the VPN and buy Netflix with a different IP address. After the purchase, you can enjoy Netflix for less than £1.

Has anyone here tried this trick?

It's definitely not less than £1, although probably less than half of the UK pricing.
You need to bear in mind though that it's not just as easy as having a VPN and a different IP address. You may need to pay in the local currency, and you may even need a "local" mobile number. I believe it also geo locks you to the country you sign up from for the first 30 days, so you can't just do it and then change back to UK Netflix.

For the amount of faff involved I've just switched to subscribing for a month or two at a time. I'd been subscribed for over 10 years so the only things I was really watching were new releases. I cancelled again last week; I'll dip back in at some point in Spring or Summer once enough new stuff has built up.

I have found a guide online to do that. I will try it and post it here if it is still working.
