If it is too old then Suet will smell reasty (sp) that may just be a local word LOL but you know the gone off oil/lard smell that that 8 year old jar of vaseline has that you only keep for your cracked heels:eek:. If it smells ok I would still use it.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

I would still use it - I used oil once for dumplings and they had a very odd, cakey texture. Not unpleasant but not dumplings!0

Sell by dates and best before dates are merely guidelines as to when the product supposedly begins to be past its best for taste and performance.It does not mean that the item is inedible or dangerous to eat beyond this date.If a product is dangerous to eat after a certain date then it will carry a use by date.Best before and sell by dates are merely advisory.So I would use the suet
