Thank you all for the valuable insights
You've been incredibly helpful and I'm so grateful and happy to have learned a lot! While I've been following your lead and researching other cars, taking into consideration as many factors as I can, my mate's neighbour happened to be selling their Yaris 2010 (with full service history, with good and fresh MOT; though it's a 1.33, so insurance is a bit...you know...except for when I install a blackbox) which they had been taking really good care since day 1 so I'm going to buy it from them. Having said that, all your comments are really very useful and I'll leave this thread open so that other new drivers and experienced forumites can perhaps take a look and participate in the discussion. I'll also be bookmarking these and show my nephew as he's going to go through the same process soon! Thank you once again, lovely people!
