Postage scales

Any recommendations for postage scales that can handle over 5kg please?  (Preferably up to 8-10kg just to futureproof the purchase, but 6 would be okay.)

I used to do the 'weigh myself then weigh myself with the parcel' trick but now that pulls all the muscles in my shoulders and across my chest.  And smaller parcels are a nightmare to get on our small kitchen scales without completely covering the readout.

I don't mind spending decent money on them as we're hoping to get a wiggle on with selling a load of things in the coming months and years, so they'll get plenty of use.

The results I've seen from a search tonight have prices all over the place and I absolutely don't want to go cheap and useless, but equally don't want to pay more than I need to for a reliable set.  So I thought I'd ask for recommendations / wisdom here

Don’t the parcels fit on your bathroom scales without you having to hold the parcel and weigh yourself as well?

They fit okay but they don't register, even over 2kg.

I got mine from Costco about 15 years ago and they are brilliant, they do only work in 5g increments but that's ok for me.

Lots of different makes and prices- but they all look the same! Mine is an Abcon .

I just got some similar to those after my last ones decided not to weigh things any more.
There are some similar ones on Amazon, so I paid around £24 for mine on a deal, so worth a few extra clicks to find a better deal.

Mine are old now but I didn't pay more than about £25 for mine either- and as you say Amazon often heavily discount things where there are lots of makes and sellers.

I use a set of digital kitchen scales for small items and a set of cheap digital luggage scales that cost me about £3 a few years ago they are accurate within 5 grams, with a maximum weight of 50Kg, I just put the parcel into a bag or use a strap around it if it is large and hook it on, never had a problem doing it this way and at £3 it is a lot cheaper than a commercial set of scales.
