Cashback website not paying

Hi all,

What are the consumer rights over cashback website not paying the cashback they should? Or are their even any? As I have noticed that a lot people complaining about Go Compare not paying out cash back though the TopCashback website via Trustpilot and it has also happen to me.

Most cashback sites are seen as a bonus - there's no guarantee you'll get it. Most of the time it works, sometimes it doesn't. There's no consumer rights as such. Sometimes people try and game the system by trying to get cashback with another outside offer, sometimes the system doesn't capture the transaction properly and doesn't track.

You mention topcashback - was it tracked then declined? Or did it not track in the first place?

Yes it was tracked on my "Earnings" page as "£0.00 pending uplift" after a few months of nothing I submitted a claim and it got declined a month later.

Although not Go compare - I've had around 5-6 cashbacks declined in the last two years - after following the instructions to the letter. I always used a new browser window after clearing cookies/history - then clicked through and made my purchase, and still got declined. It does feel a bit of a con when it happens - and there's always some excuse - but the cashback sites do exist on the premise that anything received is a bonus rather than guaranteed.

Yeah I completely understand, I went on Trustpilot to see if another else as the same issue and they do with Go compare and almost anything that's high value.
