Asking for a friend. She is likely to become unemployed shortly and rents out her house. Would she be entitled to JSA or not as there is obviously income from the rent, which almost covers the bills. She has several years NI contributions paid in. TIA.

New Style JSA is the only one possible to claim now and it isn't means tested. Therefore renting out a property will not affect it. Class 1 NI contributions are needed for the previous 2 tax years and It's payable for 6 months at £84.80/week (25 and over)
