Combi boiler flame goes off

Hi
Our 8 years of Worcester Greenstar 38CDI combiboiler does not turn on.Flame comes on and then goes off by itself with EA message flashing.
Normally happens when it is meant to come on (hot water or central heating) when on timer. But sometimes it works fine daily for a month before it plays up.
Got two engineers in-one said it is to do with thermostat control in kitchen and other one said it could be "recycling error"
No funny sounds or loss of pressure etc.
Any idea what this could be and how to sort it out?
Many Thanks

Have you checked for the following, as per the manual?

    Flame not detected.
If it safe to do so, check for:

    • gas is on in the house

    • frozen condensate pipe

    • blocked flue outlet

Though if you've had 2 gas engineers out, I assume they did that?

I'm puzzled why neither of these Gas Safe engineers were able to fix your boiler for you, but you expect to find an answer from randoms on the internet who have no access to your boiler and who are unlikely to be competent to fix it if we did?
Exactly why were the engineers unable to fix it?

OP didn't say they were gas safe engineers, just engineers. They may have been software engineers :D

Said in jest, but one said the EA error could be to do with a thermostat? Really?

I had a similar error on a different boiler some years ago, it turned out to be some sort of safety thing, it was checking sensors and turning off the flame as conditions were not what is was checking for.

My neighbour had a problem with her boiler and it turned out just to be bar pressure, unlike my boiler hers had this all controlled in the user interface.

You might try a plumbers forum but check the basics like bar pressure, if it is low you can find a video on YouTube for your boiler model, it is about the only thing that is user serviceable, it is illegal for someone who is not gas safe registers to repair a gas boiler.

Have a Gas Safety Check performed on your boiler by reputable firm. They will do the basics which should be done every year and they may also notice what is actually wrong without charging you an arm and a leg.
