Thanks all, already reported to Action Fraud but need to update them about the LinkedIn page & number. But the airline is being a pain about letting me know what’s happened to the Avios. Either they’re yet to be refunded or they’ve been stolen. I just get passed from pillar to post…put on hold forever or chat just ends. Is there another way of finding out?
I would have thought that the helpline for the airline's Loyalty Programme would be able to tell you of recent transactions (even if the website hasn't updated).  Sure they can see if someone has arranged a transfer out to another account or not? But I'm guessing you've tried that?
  • bagand96 yes I've tried everything possible and was due to travel on Sunday, not sure what to do at all. Buy new full fare flights then claim on insurance for extra cost? Wait to see if QR reinstate my flight? Wait for the Avios refund & rebook? Cancel my hotel booking in Frankfurt? I've only got 20,000 Avios left and that's not enough to do anything with on a long haul flight I'm well and truly in limbo. This what QR has said for now:

Agent: I really apologize for this inconvenience, but I will advise you to wait for 24hrs so that we can get any update from our team regarding the call investigation. After getting any information only I would be able to tell you whether we can refund the Avios back or not.

I reported that there was suspicious activity on my account to QR on Monday and it's looking like it will be late Friday afternoon before I get any sort of response.

These scammers really disrupt people's life and 9 out of 10 times they get away with it. It's so bloody hard to find the correct contact on QR's website, no wonder scammers are targeting them.
  • It’s also quite annoying that QR is not saying what’s happened to the Avios. I’ve asked so many times, have they refunded them and they’ve been stolen or not? Such a simple question that can’t be answered. Very frustrating!

If you click "Contact Us" at the bottom of their home page https://www.qatarairways.com/en-gb/help.html
down the bottom of that page is the phone number and a live chat option
  • Caz3121 thank you, I have found this since, I was talking about when I did the initial search last week but I know better now.

Anyone know the email address of QR's UK CEO?

The investigation is taking too long and it's time I don't have. I still don't what has happened to my Avios. I have found some BA flights which could work for me but cannot book.

Not sure that's a realistic approach - any UK presence will likely be no more than a minor branch office....
  • This is painful and unbelievable, so today 5 days after I first reported the fraud, QR tells me that nothing can be done until I file a fraud report. I spent several hours on the online chat and on the phone to QR this week and nobody thought of mentioning this to me. They are refusing to tell me what has happened to the Avios and I cannot book another flight. I've been passed from one department to another with no outcome, the only investigation that was launched was to listen to my phone calls but of course this would come to nothing as the number that defrauded me don't even belong to QR.

I think the language barrier with the agents is big problem as not a single one of them picked up that this was a fraud, despite the fact I just kept telling them it wasn't me who cancelled my flight and that someone accessed my account by stealing my password. There is now going to be a new investigation and the one from Monday hasn't even concluded yet.

Big advice to others who might experience this, just ringing QR and telling them what has happened is no guarantee anything will be done unless you are lucky to get a more insightful agent who tells you to fill the fraud report or as I did write to the head office.
