A few weeks ago I opened a new account with Lloyd's to get the switching bonus, and forgot I'd already got an old account with them open.
As id used a different mobile number they asked me to come into branch with ID within 14 days, but I was away at the time so didn't and the application was closed.
When I returned, I've opened another as I was able to take ID into branch, but despite initially accepting my application they've 24 hours later closed my account
Spoke to account opening team who refused to tell me why and said they can't overturn and they'd wait 12 months before even bothering to apply again
Is there anything I can do?

Sounds like you've gotten flagged for providing inconsistent information, and failing to follow up when Lloyds asked for ID. The will have likely done this to protect themselves (and you) from potential fraud. They don't have to offer you an account if they don't want to, so there's not much you can do to reverse their decision.
I'd possibly suggest submitting a DSAR to National Hunter and CIFAS in case something got reported there, and possibly also to Lloyds to see if they've recorded anything about your recent applications. It won't change any decisions, but it might help you understand what got you rejected.

it may simply be that they can see you have on old, long-unused account already so ask why do you want another one ?0
