Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
Seems ok out there, but yesterday was cold. I gave in and got my winter coats out, and was pleased I had when we went out last night, I've given in to gloves as well. I try to hold off from winter stuff till the beginning of November, because we're usually still wesring them in April, but there you go.
We had a good night at the quiz, it's nice to catch up with friends.
That was a bargain outfit for your Dgd Camelot.
Hope your Ds is doing all right Topsy.
Good that you're getting your garage back TA!
Ruby, Rob's mother sounds to be horrible, what a nasty person! I would put it more forcefully but the mods would remove my post.
WL, you're in de cluttering mode, I love a good sort and tidy.
Coxy, hope your Dd gets that job she's interviewed for.. Thoughts to you and your Dad, it's a difficult time.
Hope you are ok Taff, you sound busy as usual.
I know I've missed people - apologies for that, but hope everyone has as good a day as they can. Take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. The promised rain for us has been postponed until tomorrow.
I had a rubbish night with the usual dwelling on stuff that's worrying me and things that can't be changed. I was awake more than I was asleep. By 5.00 a.m. I was then frightened of going to sleep and being woken up by my Ocado driver hammering on the door. An email tells me I have nothing oos or subbed. Last week I got a human error "sub" of some M & S party size Kievs instead of the frozen berries I had ordered! I'm sure they will be very nice just not with my jelly and yoghurt!!
Going to the theatre tonight with DD and the 2 girls. It's a performance of next generation dances that's on a UK tour. We don't really know what to expect but as the girls dance principle was given a discount code for 50% off the tickets we thought why not! We are dithering about going for a meal beforehand. I am leaving it up to DD to decide. We seem to have spent a lot on eating out over the last week. I just hope I don't fall asleep through it thanks to my rubbish night.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our pooirlies or MIA. COXY I hope all goes well for your dad and fingers crossed for your DD's job interview. RUBY Rob's mother sounds a nasty piece of work. Take care all and be safe. Safe drive to Glasgow GERS xx

Morning. It's still pitch black outside, seems so odd after the long spring and summer. Yesterday I lit the woodburner for the first time since last winter, and that only because my neighbour was calling in to repair the upstairs loo. He bought the necessary part over the weekend. We then spent a pleasant hour chatting over a cuppa with his dog sitting on my feet. He showed me a video of water rushing down past his house during the torrential rain last Friday. Scary stuff. After he had gone I slumped into my armchair in front of the stove and just watched old episodes of Taskmaster, it's because of the heat, the effect is so relaxing.I'm not leaving for a couple of hours as the lunch date is at 1.00p.m. and I have no chores to do in Glasgow beforehand, I'll pick up an order from M&S on the way out. The storm is not forecasted to have much of an impact here, thank goodness, after last week I don't think that the ground can hold any more water.Topsy - well done on persisting with getting support for yourself, it's very wearing looking after someone else full time.Coxy - I hope that your father is recovering well.Scarlet - how did you do at the quiz?TA - have a lovely night at the mystery event.Camelot - I bet that your little one looks fab in the Elsa dress.Coxy - my fingers are crossed for your DD, she deserves to land the job.Wicked - perhaps the rads need bleeding, mind you I have no idea what that means, just hear it bandied about!DP1 - I hope that you slept better last night.Rosy - how lovely that your friend praised your card, so much thought and love went into making it so he obviously appreciated it.I've washed my hair this morning, I normally do it a the pool on Thursdays but couldn't go to birthday lunch with less than clean hair.I hope that everyone is safe from the storm.10

Morning everyone the television is working great but we have had a week of it the toaster broke the next day and we wondered what the third thing will be well we lit the log burner yesterday and there was such a bang we have cleaned it out this morning and part of the plate on the top has cracked and a piece has fallen off it god only knows how much that is going to cost but hopefully that’s my third thing nothing else although the dog kept scratching and I knew she needed her hair cut that was 35 pounds she hasn’t stopped and yesterday she had bit her tail and her tummy looked sore took her to the vet 2 minutes she was in given 7 tablets 58 pounds I will never have any money but the good news it’s a bit milder this morning but wet off to work in a minute I have taken chops out for tonight or at least that’s what they look like could be anything once they are defrosted. Gers enjoy your lunch and stay safe on them roads Coxy hope your Dad is alright TA enjoy the theatre hope everyone stays safe from this storm . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning all
Cold here and rain and storms due for most of they day, I am off to collect Rob and take him to work, he arrived yesterday 1/2 hr late wearing a t- shirt and coat with no jumper, his lunch consisted of a cheese spread sandwich and that was it ! And he had £5 in his purse, the crazy golf was £6 so I had to give him more lunch pay the extra for his crazy golf and buy him a cup of tea to keep him warm 😡 it’s all been reported it’s just not fair on him.
I need to phone the Dr this morning as my finger tip has been sore for a while now but yesterday it started to swell and go dark red it’s so sore to touch or pick anything up and I have no feeling on the finger tip, it looks like some kind of infection so hopefully I can get to see someone today.
Dinner tonight will be bacon egg and chips, I need to do some shopping later too.
Coxy fingers crossed for your Dad and dd xxx
Gers safe journey xxx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning All
Milder this morning but still quite chilly, yesterday was bitter, the promised sun didn't really break through the cloud but thankfully the mist and fog lifted. I walked to the sorting office for a parcel that wasn't there and my ears were freezing, need to find a hat!
Have a good trip to Glasgow Gers, hope you can make it home before the rain arrives.
Poor Rob Ruby, thank goodness you can look after him. Perhaps his Mum needs a reminder that any benefits received for him are for him, not her. Hope you can get someone to look at your finger.
Fingers crossed for your DD Coxy and hope your DDad gets good results.
Gosh Izzy it's not your week is it. Hope the repair isn't too costly.
Enjoy the performance TA.
Glad you enjoyed your evening Scarlet.
I may be going to the beach today with DD and the little one, I'll phone her in a minute to find out. Had a lovely catch up with a friend yesterday, haven't seen her for ages.
Take care. XX

Morning all; dull here today.
I made a lovely coffee and walnut cake yesterday to share with DD. The buttercream icing was particularly nice as I'd followed a recipe that said to beat in a spoonful of milk and use an electric whisk to beat it for about 4 mins. Will try to remember that in the future; I normally just do icing by hand.
This morning I'll be going up to the Larder for an extra shift so will see what veg is there. I've a bit of ironing to do and then we're having sausages and wedges for dinner. Off down the M1 tonight for Morris practice; we have a big event this weekend based around Trafalgar Square so practice is imperative!
Hope everyone's day goes well.10 -
Morning everyone
Quite windy here this morning - it's meant to get really wild this afternoon.
Gers thanks for asking, but no I had another rubbish night's sleep. I'm very achy and have had such a headache since Monday morning. I think it's just the long covid - I'm sick of it now!
I'm not at work today so will go down to mam and dads for a cuppa and then go for some shopping. Might pop into town this afternoon if I feel up to it as I have a prescription to collect and I can use the same bus ticket all day.
Hope everyone has a good day today x11 -

The wind is very blustery but it's dry, so far!

Morning all..windy and cold but not super cold. I have to cut the grass today because it's green bin day tomorrow and start making inroads organising things. I think I've finally had my epiphany about buying things and then taking them to cs's a year later, or the same with freebies... I took a bootload to the recycle place yesterday [One desk and one bookcase to go and that's it for the bulky stuff.] and came away with two chairs for my sister, because two are better than none until she finds what she wants. I took them apart at home because they were slightly wobbly, screwed all screws back in and put more glue in the joints, put them back together so hopefully now they're rock solid. Also went out for lunch with a friend, to a local Italian, never been there before, thumbs up for proper Italian cooking, I'll take my sister there when she comes up I think. I did some rolling round on the sofa groaning when I got home I tell you. I think a frittata is on the cards, just something for lunches or breakfast, I seem to be always looking at the cupboards but everything I have takes ages to cook and I don't plan ahead enough. And I must try and pin down the plumber. I tested the heating yesterday, only one radiator is on the loop and working and that's in the bathroom...Gers, safe travels, enjoy your lunch! glad your toilet isfixed too...Coxy, hope your dads news is good . WL, how very exciting! Ruby, what a pain to deal with. What is wrong with her? Who would send their child [ because lets'face it, they will always be children to their parents] out like that with no warmth and no food? Hope the sw can put a rocket up her...Izzy, your burner should still be under guarantee shoulnd't it? it was only fitted last year. Fingers crossed your chops are chops
TA, enjoy the show! Scaret, you might as well just wear the coats, being cold is no fun but you can keep layering until the Michelin man look is achieved
Take care all, wrap up!
