Ppi claim and then ignored after contacting ombudsman.

I made a claim for ppi 1 day before cut off date a few years ago, this was rejected by one company and no reply from another claim so I contacted the ombudsman. I was told not to worry massive claims workload and they would get back to me. Covid then kicked in so I left it for a while still no reply so I phoned up again and was told someone would get back to me and they never have to this day, is it now out of date or can I do anything about it. Thanks.
