Should I get a tenants forwarding address?

As an aside: 30 days notice? I assume then this is a contractual periodic tenancy and the contract specifies 30 days? Unusual. One full tenancy period, or 28 days if weekly periodic would be more usual.0 -

On the other hand, you need to take ownership of notifying utilities yourself at each end of the void period (to protect yourself as much as anything) and do you want to be involved with having to forward post etc? That is the tenant's responsibility to set up a redirection - if the tenant doe snot, you can simply "return to sender" or bin anything that arrives for the former tenant.

As a tenant I always refused to provide a forwarding address. All my landlords would have an email address and mobile number so I was never uncontactable. I always have my mail forwarded for a year so the landlord can write to me at the rental property address and it will reach me, same for utility companies etc.1
