Nearly got lifted and impounded, ticketed instead.

Hi All.

A van was mistakenly parked in the wrong area of a residential street without a permit. In hindsight the signs were quite obvious. Fortunately we spotted the tow truck trying to lift it, we managed to stop it after some wrangling and the CEO then issued a ticket. Of course this is a lucky escape, however have the council / CEO acted within guidelines ? I mean we had no knowledge they were in the area, the ticket says it was observed for just over 30 minutes (presumably a camera) can they then slap ticket on when we're about to move it ? As I said it was a lucky escape and we really can't complain without a leg to stand on; despite it being moved to a pay and display bay straight away and then paying a ridiculous fee to park again.

Read the sticky 'Read this before you post' as well as reading through some of the other threads there ahead of posting your own details, to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate), as they need to see all the small print.
