Thermostat lost!

Hi, 
so we cleared away our thermostat in the spring and now I need it I can't find it! How do we get our heating on? We've got a pretty new Worcester boiler. I don't know whether I need a plumber, an electrician or just pick up a cheap thermostat from Screwfix myself. Is it possible to over-ride the thermostat and just turn it on and off at the boiler? Any thoughts, advice welcome

Hopefully near your boiler will be the thermostat's receiver - have a look. Probably a wee white box with possibly a couple of lights on it. Oh, and some buttons...

See if one says 'Override' or 'manual'.

I am guessing this a wireless thermostat?

Do you have a picture or model number of the receiver - if a Honeywell it will likely be a square white box with a grey button on it (around the same size as a plug socket as it uses the same mount box behind) next to and wired into the boiler).

Good news If so as it will likely be a replacement from screwfix/toolstation as they normally come with a basic unit and there are more sophisticated units to upgrade too.

Ours is fairly new (worcester Bosh Greenstar 4000)...... Operated ours for 3 months from the boiler itself after it had been fitted... all doable. No thermostat as they where having trouble getting the microchips to make them from asia .. I don't quite know what you mean when you say you cleared away our thermostat in spring ??..... once up, it stays up, surely
