Having looked at a Wix website regarding SEO, it is an absolute pain. The entire produced website is written in Javascript and I can see how the ultra-optimisation Google wants causes problems. Even simple stuff like favicons and labelling images becomes inconsistent and unreliable.
And that was the paid version of Wix. I have no idea of the limitations of the free version.

You can get a decent hosting package for 15 quid a year, but you'll need a completely new website. Wix websites cannot be converted to standalone websites without a quite ridiculous amount of work.

In the end I made a completely new website using Weebly and found it fairly straightforward although the design tool didn't offer as many options as Wix, it was good enough for what I wanted. I've paid them about £96 for two years and have connected my domain to the site so I'm hoping in due course Google's web crawler will crawl my new site and think it's OK

One key question is: are you reliant on SEO for customer acquisition?  If not, then no big deal.

Wix is at a key disadvantage with SEO since (as you know) its sites are not responsive, which is something google states is now a factor for rankings.

You could now create a new site with another free provider like Squarespace or Godaddy which offer responsive sites, but of course the URL would then be different, meaning you would need to build SEO up again . .

    Edit -- didn't read page 2 . .

Get Google Search Console installed (its free!) as this will help you manage the health of your website (404s, indexing issues, canonicals, core web vitals, etc). It will also help you assess the performance of your website. Check YouTube to understand how it works and how it can help you improve various elements relating to your website.
