I've been on chat for 2.5 hours with Sky now trying to renegotiate my TV service in response to their hikes. 

First agent said they could reduce the price, but not by as much as Virgin.

Their 'retention' agent then said the best they could do is increase it by 21% - on top of the 33% hike I just got!

Then when I said I would cancel, they just send message after message talking about their 'unbeatable' content, and how bad Virgin are (agents bashing other companies is always a red flag for me). And refusing to process the cancellation until I ended up threatening to report them to Ofcom.

I asked to cancel at 14:14, they agreed to process it at 15:04 - nearly 50 minutes later! How is that even legal?!
