Argos - great service....

Ordered a leather sofa, Habitat at Argos.  It was £925 with 20% off, so £740 and delivery was today.  

On Friday I happened to be looking at other furniture and noticed a code had been added to website with 20% off.  Called the helpline and explained the situation and the operator told me to take delivery and call back.  Today he refunded £195 to me.  (I actually got the same person I spoke with).

So the £925 sofa, instead of paying £740 was actually £592.  It is great quality too considering it's from a catalogue showroom.

Excellent service from Argos and I doubt any other store would do that.  If I was sent to a desert island and had to pick a store, it would be Argos.

I am the 1st to complain when something goes wrong, but credit where credit is due!

We often buy things from Argos and my husband likes to ask to see the item before actually purchasing it to make sure it’s exactly what we want.  Our local Argos has never had a problem with this.  We try and go in when they are quiet.  We bought something quite large once and they happily got someone to carry it out to the car.

I remember buying something in store and noticing there was a discount for an online order.

I don't have a smartphone so the only way to do this would have been to go home, order online and then come back.

I had a chat with the young woman on the till, she pressed a few buttons and I got the lower price.

I don't use Argos much but had a similar experience some years ago. Bought six matching chests of drawers (or is that chester draws!)and spotted there was a 20% discount online. Phoned them and asked if the discount could be applied to the already purchased items. Yes, like the O.P. a refund equivalent to the 20% was refunded.

They were originally bought online and can't remember exactly how the 20% awareness came about.
