Opening an account with Ulster Bank

I've been tryiing to open an online easy access account with UB for the last week and I am close to giving up. I think it would probably be easier to join the CIA.  The currrent state of play is that yesterday I successfully took  a selfie to pass their 'LIVENESS' test and also sent them a copy of my passport.  At least these were tasks I could do online. But I still don't have banking details that would enable me to deposit some money in the account. Does anyone here know the secret?

Ulster Bank is slow to do anything. All I can suggest is that you remain patient. IIRC when I last opened a UB account it took more than a week before I was up and running.

As already suggested, they aren't the speediest.  Ulster Bank list all Natwest banks as their branches and say you can go into any Natwest branch for help if necessary.  How that works in practice is anyone's guess.  I'd suggest you give it a week or so but not too long as they cancel the application if not completed within 4 weeks.

Lol I've been there done that. Like the above says patience is needed, give them 3 weeks

You might get no correspondence from them till it's all done and dusted
