Chase UK

Chase UK now works on my older mobile phone and that was not the case 20 months ago.
My mobile is nearly 6 years old Android 9.0 (pie).
I did buy a new mobile and i have Chase UK on this mobile Android 12, but good to know i now have a backup mobile with the Chase app on it.
Why it works now is a complete mystery, i wonder if Chase changed something ?

AFAIK, it's about 32 or 64-bit architecture, not about the OS, and 64-bit achitecture exists for about 10 years.
Google how to check your old phone.

Android 9 is not longer getting any security updates. It is not safe to put any financial apps on regardless of whether they will install.

The minimum Android version it would run on is 8.1, and as grumbler mentions it had to be the 64-bit architecture. This has been the case since Chase launched in the UK and I don't think anything has changed.
You can only have the Chase app activated on one device at a time, and must go through ID verification each time you wish to change device.

Most Android phones run out of security updates after a couple of years. Most Android phones in use most likely do not have security updates:
The banks do not seem to care, and most people seem to have the courage of ignorance.
