Very interesting thoughts as I'm in a similar position - except I dont' love this one.It was a cheap buy £300 @ 43,000miles and serviced every year - so I could go round to look for a new car, then house move, pandemic and it's still here.Your thoughts have helped me decide.I was dithering should I fix? It's not pretty with a faded bonnet and dents (not mine ;-) but I've got a lot new in there bought just this year.Seeing another beautifully smart car with double cup holder, aux etc and only 18000 miles but 10yrs old and it would take a lump of capitalBut I drive round the moors, brambles, rocks et al that I don't have to worry about in the old car.I think if you love the old one keep it. I did with 2 of mine and drove them until they would no longer go. I regret neither.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
