Hi all, time to move our current accounts from Barclays, the reason we have stuck with them is because there online banking is great, me and the wife can see our joint accounts and swap money back and forth all the time, it's something i could never do without!
But of course Barclays are in the top for worst charges, poor interest etc
So is there a bank out there that has good interest and great online banking?
Cheers

Hubby and I are very pleased with our Nationwide Flex accounts and the internet banking that goes with it. It will offer all the services that the Big 4 banks do, I'm sure. MArtin has done an article on current accounts - Nationwide is best if you plan to go abroad for your holidays too.0

A&L's online banking is pretty good, I've got PremierPlus and online saver and an online ISA with them, it's a doddle to swop money around, set up payments, and monitor your direct debits too (it gives you a list of who holds a direct debit mandate, plus the last time it was activated and for how much). The only downside is the TWELVE DIGIT user code you have to remember, along with a separate passnumber. But I suppose that's the price you pay for online security. Boo to them for cutting the online saver rate this week, but the PremierPlus account is a reasonable all-rounder (see Martin's article on current accounts) and you get free travel insurance too. Before you criticise a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you do criticise him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes.0

current account pays 3% and you can also open a websaver account paying 4.9% and move your money around instantly.0 -
Online banks Cahoot and Smile are pretty good too.

I have opened accounts with nationwide, cahoot, Halifax and Lloyds. Nationwide are efficient, great range of services with really low charges but not the best interest rate. Cahoot were slow, they often needed to be told several times and they asked me for the same information several times too. Halifax made 6 mistakes in the 5 weeks I was with them. Lloyds were really efficient in opening the account.0

Moved from Barclays/first direct to Smile with 2 personal accounts and 1 joint account.
The customer service from smile has been excellent. Also ther online interface is very clear and easy to understand and operate. In my opinion better than Barclays & First Direct (which I thought were very good anyway). Setting up payments/DD has been easy on smile and I can see my own and joint account at the same time.
Nationwide online has been terrible. No responses at all from secure messages to them (I think other posters have said the same) and the processing centre that handles the accounts have been shockingly inept. Sending me personal and account details of other people through the post (someones request to have their salary paid into the account so included employer details as well). Disgracefully poor security.0
