Soffit repair help!

My timber soffits are basically rotting away. What's the best way to go about this particular repair? Sand/Fill or put some sort of covers over. If you can show me what I need and where to buy them even better.

remove the old, rotting boards. If you want to use traditional materials, replace using treated timber, but they will require regular painting. Alternatively, use uPVC soffit & fascia boards - Again, remove the old rotting timber.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -

Could I not just thoroughly sand, fill and repaint that? Access isn't too difficult, just need a long ladder.

The end bit looks too far gone for filler. The rest of it may be salvageable though.

Definitely don't cover over rotting wood with plastic cladding. You could consider replacing the rotten timber with uPVC replacement facias and soffits, though, if you don't want them to need filling and painting again in future.0
