Secret Gardening Club (log provider)

I’m trying to find who provides the kiln dried logs for Secret Gardening Club aka Lavender world

I pre-ordered in June for delivery early September. Well, almost mid October and still no delivery.

I’ve emailed them but keep getting fobbed off with them saying their provider have had issues.

I’m trying to source the legitimacy of this statement.

Anyone know?

also anyone else having these issues? Also it’s all well and good telling me to get a refund but after 4 months they better also provide interest too.

Have you read their trustpilot reviews? They seem to be consistently late in sending things out.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Many people have had issues. As you can see, the SGC was dissolved in late 2021.

Lavender World appears to be a dormant company. Other people describe them in other ways, but this is a family-friendly site, so I won't quote.
There seems to be no indication where the advertised logs come from. If there are logs, it's pretty certain  Lavender World are just acting as a go between, and they won't do it for free. If I search my local very rural area, I can find kiln dried logs within 20 miles and know who's supplying them, so why on earth did you take a punt on ordering some without provenance from goodness knows where?
I'm not telling you to get a refund; reviews suggest that may not be easy. I'd tell you to use a local company with an address and a yard one can visit if there's a problem. Small local businesses have been well-hammered by this inept administration and need support.

    Hi

firstly I’ve used them before and it was fine. So that’s the provenance

secondly I do use local places but they had a pre-order discount that made it worth the time.

yes I know they don’t say where the logs are from and that they are a middle person. That’s why I’m asking this question.

I’ve done my research. I’m not one of those who just ask when google could’ve solved it. I’m asking because someone somewhere will know the answer to this question which is ONLY answerable by someone actually knowing either the provider OR being the provider.

i used them because it saved money. I know my rights and if it fails I know how to get my money back. I wanted to get to the bottom of it first.

But do you really need to buy kiln dried logs ?
I'll stack part seasoned logs in my shed during the spring, and once they have baked in there over the summer, they'll be down well below 20% come the winter. Some will even measure as low as 10% moisture content.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

No. We have land and a chain saw which keeps us partly self-sufficient in logs, and instead of receiving money for hay or looking after sheep, we are paid in 'stuff,' including logs. We still buy in a truckload or two as well. As you say, by the time it's sat in the shed for 18 months, it will be as good as artificially dried wood.
However, I have a friend living on a modern development, and she finds it convenient to buy kiln dried because of storage limitations. Heat pumps and loads of insulation are all very nice, but they don't give you much to look at!
