Just out of interest does anyone know if it is possible in such circumstances to just issue winding up Proceedings?

Obviously more hassle and cost but would be interesting to be there when that letter arrives!

A lot more hassle and cost, the £2,600 deposit you should get back, but the £302 court fee and cost of getting a solicitor involved to help drafting the legal basis of the claim and to assist with formal service of the order probably would not if the company does the sensible thing and pays immediately, using evidence of payment to get the claim dismissed. Winding up orders are normally used by large creditors with 5 or 6 figure sums owed and a genuine belief that the debtor is technically insolvent.

Reading this has brought a smile to my face. I just love these David and Goliath situations. Well done @JANETSAVING.

Your "update" caused me to read the entire thread for the first time, and the Ombudsman's ruling.

I admire your tenacity in pursuing this and congratulate you on finally getting the right outcome.

The Ombudsman's ruling is concise, explicit and damning. A huge outfit like Halifax Sharedealing should have just done the right thing and paid up when they received the Ombudsman's final decision. There can be no justification for their failure to do so, and the fact that you had to go to court to enforce the outcome is disgraceful.

As a long time Iweb customer I'm disappointed by HSDL's behaviour.
