Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, rain is forecast for all day.
Dinner last night was use up of, ham, boiled eggs, salad, hot new potatoes, coleslaw, pork pie (menfolk). Tonight I'm not sure but have a busy evening getting a room emptied ready for the carpet fitters tomorrow.
Work today but a short day then off until Monday.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
It seems quite cold this morning, more like October than that lovely mild weather. I'm trying not to get into winter coats and gloves yet though.
Hope the pump has helped in the cellar Camelot.
TA, what an awful thing to happen to your friends house, that must have been a shock.
Rosy, the lady complaining about not being able to use her bus pass was being a bit unreasonable, bet she felt a bit daft when the driver said you had all paid.
Ruby, Rob's mother doesn't sound very nice, the poor lad must be hungry most of the time if that is an example of her catering!I
Taff, I've thought the same when I've been hungry, there's plenty of fat round my stomach, snack on that!
I've got to stay in this morning for a hospital telephone appointment, but after that the world is my oyster ( why oyster I wonder) My dil says lobster instead.
We had our haircut yesterday, my hair looks much better.
I hope everyone has a good day anyway, thinking of anyone who is not well.
Take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, hope the carpet fitting goes ok.
Cold this morning, there is a bit of condensation on the insides of the windows so the temperature must have dropped during the night. It was lovely and sunny yesterday, just what we needed. Looks like it will be dry again today so I've put the littlies bedding in the WM and will peg them out in the dark, don't think they will be here for the next few weeks but I do have other visitors on the run up to the wedding.
I got the pump for the cellar but the level is very low now and the pump wouldn't fit with the hose. I think I'll take it back and look for another. I'll leave the cellar doors open again today and see how it is tonight.
Have a good weekend away Coxy.
Well done on the promotion Topsy, hope your DS's op goes well this time. It's certainly been a long slog for him. Hope you can get some time to yourself too.
Hope you're ok snoozer.
Glad Rob turned up Ruby, you must be so special in his life.
Do you ever stop taff!
Your bus trip made me laugh Rosy, we can use our bus pass any time. Actually we can now use it for a discount on the trains any time too at the moment - the peak time fares have been suspended for 6 months.
I'm getting a haircut after work thank goodness, looking forward to not looking like a shaggy dog!
Take care. XX

It's much cooler outside today, still dark so can judge the day yet. I'm off to the pool this morning then no other plans.10

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Brr it's a nippy start and there is condensation on the windows here too for the first time since last winter. I may pop the heating on for a quick blast to take the chill off.
I had a run to the Company Shop with DD yesterday. One or two bargains but the rich pickings of when we first became members seem to happen less frequently these days. Unless we are not timing it right! Then onwards to the big B & M as DD wanted some Halloween stuff.
We've got a 50% discount offer for the carvery so we are taking advantage and taking the DGDs for tea after school. I have a few jobs lined up for before we go.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or recovering (looking at you SNOOZER) TOPSY I hope your DS improves soon. Life's not easy for you. Take care all and be safe."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all
Been raining most of the night and set in for the day, it’s only that fine drizzle but it looks very gloomy outside and it’s cold this morning.
Off to collect Rob today I have to take him home an hour early as his birth mother is coming to see him as it’s his Birthday tomorrow, I spoke to his mum again yesterday about my mileage as it’s costing me £25 a week to run him round, she went immediately on the defensive and said well I have had a letter saying I should be paying you £10.42 per hour, I said that’s minimum wage and it’s a suggestion of what you should be paying, and I can’t work for that I also said that Rob has very high needs ie choking hazard while eating and no awareness of danger when crossing roads and stranger danger which is why I am paid more to ensure he is safe, I said if you are going to pay £10.42 then you will have to look for someone else, we have a review with the SW soon so I said we will ask him re the mileage as I know that he will say yes that it should be paid, as another SW has already told me that, but mum is refusing to pay, she said that times are hard and all Robs money is being spent on his care 😳 yes dear that’s what the money is for !Anyway sorry for the rant 😬 she seems to want his money for her needs and not his !
Dinner tonight will be scampi and chips and peas nice and easy, dd is back tonight after a 24 hr shift so she will be shattered, she has four days off now to get some rest.
Topsy nice to see you posting sorry you are having a hard time, I hope your DS op is successful this time xxx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning all; wet, grey and dull here.
Caught up with various bits of housework yesterday. Today I'll change the bed and the electric blanket will be going on, as it's getting a bit chilly at night. A friend came round the other afternoon and helped clear our gutter at the back, which was blocked with moss from the roof. Today I'll be keeping a close eye on the guttering at the front to see if there are any problems.
I've got some sugar free jelly crystals so will try making a jelly with them and add in some spare strawberries. Might do some more flapjack as well.
Take care everyone.10 -
Morning, thanks nmlc. Yes condensation here too TA & Camelot & what a difference in temp. The other day I shooed a wasp out of the bathroom, and a ladybird, weird. hardly saw any ladybirds in the 'summer'. Lovely out though it's meant to be bad again tomorrow so hope there are no more floods in Scotland ( or anywhere else)Camelot that's interesting about your bus passes, there seem to be quite a lot of differences there to how it is in England, though different counties do different things here. Greater Manchester buses recently came under local gov. instead of lots of local operators- it's now called the bee network, the brainchild of the mayor of Manc. There have been some teething troubles shall we say.Gers I've been toying with going swimming today but may not as it's nice- I can just go for a walk instead.Topsy, so sorry to hear you and DS are still struggling, & hope the next op fixes the problem.Hope Snoozer is recovering well, and Scarlet your phone appt goes well too. Coxy hope DD finds something suitable soon, a bit callous of the school. My new electric bread slicer arrived yesterday. I'd had my old one years but the switch was faulty, once plugged in you couldn't switch it off and it didn't feel safe anymore. This one is identical but a different brand on the side, hope it lasts as long. I made a loaf yesterday so will test it soon. Tea was spicy chicken on flatbreads, low carb wrap for me. I might get some fish from the freezer for tonight and save the whole chicken for Sunday, not had a roast dinner for a while.Take care all & have a good day if you can x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
Nice and sunny here this morning but chilly - it's meant to be sunny for the next few days, fingers crossed. We had enough rain last weekend to last us a while.
I've put my bedding in to wash so I'll get that hung out before I go to work.
I had a course yesterday morning, just on zoom so I was on my sofa, then I had my Covid jab in the afternoon. I have a sore arm this morning but ok otherwise.
Topsy I hope you get your son's PIP sorted soon, I applied for mine in February and am up to the tribunal stage now.
Our bus passes start at 9am, but the bus picks up at my nearest stop at 2 minutes to the hour so the bus drivers often scan the passes when people get off the bus so they don't have to pay - a lot of the time I'm the only person on the bus who has paid!
Better get on hope everyone has a good day today. TA enjoy your carvery - I love a carvery. x9 -
Morning! Raining and quite dark here. Last night I dreamt I was so cold I had to light the fire, cue all sorts of weird things happening while I tried. When I got up I was quite surprised to see it hadn't been lit...Today I have a hospital appointment to get myself a fake silicone or something boob, I did really want one over the summer but obviously had to wait for an appointment. I didn't bother getting one to start with but my belly is bigger and I wanted it so my clothes would at least skim my belly instead of hugging it. For some occasions obviously. I have bought a couple of the lightweight ones but they ride up so it looks like you have a boob on your collarbone or wonky donkeys. Other than that, I have a friend to vivist, a stich and B1tch with the friend back from Germany for a few days, stew again for supper but I will put some in the freezer, I underestimated the size of the pan I was cooking in and made enough for a small army. And the crochet blanket goes on apace. I'm mixing and matching stitches and making it up as I go along.Rosy, I laughed at your story...surely if your pass works only after a certain time you wouldn't bother trying it beforehand? electric breead slicer? What does that look like? I googled but only found the big machines with wheels or the ones you put a loaf in and cut down between guides. Topsy, how awful for you both, fingers crossed this op sorts him out a bit better. Can you take a break of a few hours by yourself somewhere? Coxy, have a lovely weekend! Scarlet, hope the appointment goes well, and why not wear winter coats? You can always put more underneath if you need to, nice pair of thermals or something
camelot, you work full time, look after gc, have an allotment, etc etc and you think I am busy? errr....nope..glad your cellar is drier though! TA, nice impromptu visit and another today! Enjoy! Ruby, I know some other people who think care money is their money too...so annoying. Hope the review is sooner..WL, thanks for reminding me, I'd better do the one I can reach. Hope all the MIA are ok, have a fabulous day if you can!

Morning all peace reigns again in the house of Bella Matthew is changing all the time he has learnt that no means he needs to throw a tantrum yesterdays tantrums were because i refused to let him play with my lap top and when he kept taking the safety padding off the edge of the coffee table thankfully the weather was good and he played out most of the day he especially likes dirt
The dog is snoozing and the WM has just finished i treated us to a new flannelette duvet set in the Dunelm sale so that just needs to be put on the heated airer to dry. Dinner tonight is whatever i can grab from the freezer i need to shop from home as it needs to be emptied a bit as xmas is coming and there is no way i can fit anything in at the moment.
Have a good day one and all stay safe dry and warmSlava Ukraini8
