Useless new BG app & account

British Gas have moved my account to their new system & the app is so poor it’s useless to me!
My IHD has never worked so I used the old app to track how much electric I use & control the cost. The gas smart meter is dumb, so I can only track that by calculating from meter readings & I send that in every month.
Bear in mind, BG only bill me in March & September so I’ve now zero visibility of what I’m using over the most expensive months! & sending in readings doesn’t update the credit balance. I can’t even leave for another month now.
I’ve downloaded & registered for the Bright app but all that’s showing is the cost of the standing charges each month if I set it to show cost rather the kWh. Maybe it needs to update more, but that’s currently proving useless too. my last resort is building myself a spreadsheet for electric as well as gas to track my spending myself. But I pay BG for a reasonable service & having no visibility of what I’m spending on power isn’t acceptable to me.
Utterly exasperated with BG now.
Can anyone recommend a supplier to transfer to that will either update account balance monthly or upon receiving meter readings (gas) or show usage by monthly accumulating cost like the old BG app did, so I’m not having to completed guess (pray!) that I’ve not massively overspent come March’s bill.

Octopus. Best supplier in the market. Other suppliers are now leasing Octopus' software system.2

I would suggest Octopus. Also try loop app, but these apps can’t show real time data, they typically poll DCCs 2/3 times a day but generally they are ok for historical , more than 24 hrs ago.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Abandon BG asap. They promised me that being on the new system would give me monthly bill. Lie. They once cancelled over a years worth of bills & reissued all in one & some of those had already been cancelled & reissued. Same final answer, but it all needs checking.

Not that that will help me track my daily usage. Hopefully the Bright app updates properly. It’s only been running for 24hours.0

Octopus app gives a decent view of past usage, other than the current day once the data transfers over - for me usually the following PM.
Only minor gripe with them is their latest updates have limited the view on the web based version I use on the PC, so without using the custom option I can't see the data for previous weeks/months/years. That used to work just like the App version where you can scroll back.0
