New to Octopus fix or ride the wave…

Just joined Octopus all seems good. The usual dilemma fix or ride the variable rate. They are offering a fixed rate for 12months on current October variable rate. What to do..?

Who knows ? I’m with Octopus too and have been offered a fix. I’m also a lie user so may not make a big difference. Now having another war in the Middle East energy rates could go anywhere., quite possibly up.

I've fixed on the gas, and floating on the electric because we've recently installed solar so not sure how that will impact our usage in future, and we may switch tariffs in the winter..

i'm on tracker for both. going to hang in there. my sister is going to switch to Octopus but won't do "tracker". we were looking last night and can't actually see any where that Octopus are doing a "fix" at this time so i thought it only came up once a customer. i checked my account and don't see any "fix" option either, is it by invite only?

It’s just on a tab, saying fixed tariff
  • I'm with octopus and I've switched to the 12 month fixed tariff from 1st October as I can't take the chance of prices going up again. Fingers crossed 🤞 it all goes well

I've just switched to them & they're advising fixed tariffs are only available for existing/loyal customers, not available to new customers. But you were offered a fixed?
