Removing an Executor

Hi, how costly is it to remove someone as an executor? This would not be contested.
In a nut shell me and a sibling are joint executors of my late father's estate.
I have been doing all the work so far which is fine. The problem I have is my sibling is unable to put any effort in to do anything,I am not asking her to do much, just sign forms or go to the bank with prefilled in forms and ID that only she can do
To make things harder she has moved home now, and I don't have her new address, despite asking several time, so can't even pre-print with a SAE and post the forms which she ignores anymore.
Despite what it may sound like we do get on, and she is going through some tough times at the moment, It is not that she does not want to do it, But everything else including doing nothing has priority. I believe my sister would be happy with not being an executor as long as doing so involved no effort.

She needs to formally renounce via Probate registry form."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Or she can reserve her powers ( lots of info on Google) which is a little less drastic.sammyjammy said:She needs to formally renounce via Probate registry form.

I'm not sure it's possible now, as it sounds as though your sibling has officially acted as a joint executor up to now.
If you have been made executor in a Will and you don't want the responsibility, then you do not have to act. You can give up your right to act as executor by signing a “deed of renunciation” but only before you take any action (intermeddle is the legal word used) in dealing with the estate.

does she need to be formally removed ? since you are also an executor could you just not do it all yourself?0

I have been doing it all my self and looking after the house. Problem is there a few things that need signatures, like the bank account. Shre needs to fill in a form and go to the bank, so far this has been about 3 months of i am to busy / I will do it this week / can you send the forms againOlinda99 said:does she need to be formally removed ? since you are also an executor could you just not do it all yourself?

Has probate been obtained? What estate bills need to be paid? Can they be sent to the bank to be paid directly?0

Hi,
The solution is to fill in the forms and then go and see your sister and wait while she signs them.
You just need your sisters address and some.time for that - if you are on good terms then it shouldn't be difficult to get her to give the address to you. You could even bring her a house warming gift.0
