The CPA, Recurring card payments is explained in here
e.g If you've given your long debit or credit card number when paying for a subscription or other repeat service, it's likely you've set up a continuous payment authority (CPA). Unlike DDs and SOs,The CPA is difficult to spot and to cancel by yourself. Typically it will mean going month by month checking your Bank/Credit card statement.
The MSE solution is to contact your Banks and/or Contact the company that's taking the payments to cancel the payment.
Does anyone have tricks, a better method to avoid the CPA, Recurring card payments without the need to talk to them?
Also is there any way to avoid them taking the next monthly/annual payment in the first instance ?? I have read about using pre paid card, etc, so they will not be able to pull the money without you feed the account first. If you could share your experience using this method or another method, it will be very much appreciated.

Use one of the alternative contact methods for your bank - eg email, app or a letter if you so wish.
Alternatively, cancel with the retailer.0 -

A company cannot cease your employment simply by stopping to pay you, nor does cancelling a CPA stop your contract (in most cases) and so instead it just puts you into bad debt. There are many paying 2-3x the average price for insurance because they have to declare policies cancelled for non-payment because they thought they could just cancel the CPA or DD and not inform the insurer they wanted to cancel the policy as a way to avoid the cancellation fee etc.
You ultimately need to take each merchant/contract separately and see what the correct method of cancellation of the contract is. In the minority where its simply stopping paying then contact your bank, if its the majority where you must inform the company then follow the contractual process which may be a call, filling in a web form, going into the cancellation part of your online account.
In the US some banks offer one time card numbers so you can use it for a single transaction and then its dead but its not a solution that's taken off in the UK and its not aimed as a mechanism to defraud companies for not paying for services as much as if you're concerned of the security of a company/your a QAnon believer who thinks everyone is out to get you etc0
