Who should pay for a new part in this situation?

I sold a treadmill recently on ebay, it was ex-gym so large and very heavy. It was working perfectly (I have a video) and was listed collection only and no returns.
The buyer sent a courier to pick it up. The buyer asked if I could help move and load it up on the van as the courier would be alone. This I did - the courier wouldn't have been able to do so otherwise.
The buyer claimed when it was delivered it wasn't working. He says the power supply is damaged and that he was very careful unloading so this must have happened at my end when moving it. This is possible (though I don't remember doing so).
He now wants me to pay for a new power supply. Should I do this, or tell him I was helping him out by moving it and say he should pick up the cost?

I'd tell them to pay for it. it was working when you sold it, and it's been damaged in transit and thats nothing to do with you, as you sold it collection only
tell him you were very careful loading it so it must have happened their endAsh_Pole said:He says the power supply is damaged and that he was very careful unloading so this must have happened at my end when moving it.
I don't think it's at all possible to damage a power supply on a treadmill when moving it, they are hardly fragile items.Ash_Pole said:This is possible (though I don't remember doing so).
the whole thing doesn't sound plausible
