Wrong number plate on parking charge notice from IPC member

The driver received a parking charge notice from Gemini Parking Solutions (IPC member) but with the last two characters in the registration reversed. Pictures on their website show the vehicle with the correct number plate. Charges increase after 14 day period.

Does the driver wait to receive written notice and check the vehicle number plate referenced in the letter? If it does not match then would the next stage be to appeal on the grounds it did not meet POPLA requirements? What is the likelihood of success at this stage?

Was this a PCN attached to your windscreen (Notice to Driver - NtD)?  If it was, the Notice to Keeper - NtK (to be issued via post between 28 and 56 days later) must duplicate exactly the details shown on the NtD, but it will need to be put before a Judge (if the PPC proceed that far) who should be able, with some gentle prompting, to understand the nuance here - the second stage IPC appeal service won't. For completeness, it would help to know exactly what you've had so far, please.

Zero.  Gemini are IPC. Ignore them.

Doh, 🤦‍♂️, yep, Gemini jumped off the BPA ship to sleep with dogs in the IPC bed. No POPLA. I'm just about to edit my post above.

  • The driver received the penalty charge notice on the windscreen of the vehicle 13 days ago. Tomorrow is the 14th day when the charge is said to increase.

So are you suggesting the driver should outright ignore the notice? The driver’s understanding is that IPC members can access DVLA records to find the details of the keeper and send a NTK. If they use the registration on the ticket, they will obtain the details of another owner. If they use the registration from the photographs stored as evidence on their website, they will have the correct registration.

What happens if the NTK is sent to the correct keeper (using photograph registration)?

    It's not a penalty.

    It's not increasing.

    You won't be paying.

Either dispute it or ignore it.  This is already clearly stated in the NEWBIES FAQS thread.

  • The newbie thread says to dispute any NtK with the

TEMPLATE ''ONE SIZE FITS ALL'' FIRST APPEAL THAT DOESN'T SAY WHO WAS DRIVING
    :

but that template asks for picture of sign and car etc, which they already have as proof on their website. It is not clear on what the next steps are post the appeal and whether asking for information they have already supplied makes sense? Additionally I am unable to find the guidance that suggests ignoring the NtK and on what basis this can be done? Thanks
