LPA signing

Apologies if this is a dumb question.
I am going through the process of completing a LPA online. My mother is unable to sign due to motor skills but is mentally aware of what is happening.
A Doctor is therefore speaking to my mother before signing the form on her behalf. Now the stupid question.
If I am using the online service, how do I (the attorney), the doctor and witnesses actually sign?
How do I send the forms with signatures.
Do I print out the LP1F, use this form for signatures, then attach to the online form?
I can not find anywhere on how to send signatures using the Government online service.
Would it be better to just print the LP1F and fill that in and post back to the Government?

Having done this a few months back, the process isn't all online.
With the online forms, you fill in what you can as per the process and then need to print off all the documents.
It will have pre-populated the paperwork and then you need to begin the process of getting all the signatures, in the right order!
Then you will need to post it and it will take a few months to have it rubber stamped.
There are plans to have it fully online without any silly paperwork but that is for a few years time."No likey no need to hit thanks button!":pHowever its always nice to be thanked if you feel mine and other people's posts here offer great advice:D So hit the button if you likey:rotfl:2 -
You have to print out the whole LPA after details entered with just signing remaining to do. Once signatures done and witnessed etc, all the documentation is sent to the address they tell you. There is a time limit for completion following printing (1 - 2 months, can't recall). It takes a long time before the OPG complete the process (several months) but they do acknowledge receipt.2

Also, the attorneys don't need to all sign at the same time. You can get one signed, and then take / post for the other(s)

You don’t have to “prepay”; you can send a cheque along with the signed forms.Other tips:
- my Mrs has no earned income, so she sent a declaration to this fact and sent cheques in for half the full cost (i.e. £41 vs £82) for each LPA
- I know you’re supposed to sign in a particular order (and date) but we just dated the same date against every signature
Took about 4 months from sending to registration.2 -
Thank you to everyone that has replied. I wish the Government guide was clear as the above. Until I posted my question, I found the whole process and mountain of information quite daunting.

I did not know about the discounts and could have saved £82 in total for my OH's application
Although as she had some income/benefits/interest it looks like we would have had to supply supporting paperwork in each case.
Another tip is if you do pay by credit card online, and then after printing the forms out realise you have made a mistake. You can not reverse the process. So you have to start the application again and pay again.
However eventually the system recognises that you have not gone ahead with the first application ( as you have binned the forms and not sent then off in the required time frame) and refunds the fee.

I would also echo the suggestion to put the same date next to all the signatures. I know of two people who had their LPAs rejected due to the dates being out of order in relation to the order in which the forms need to be signed. They had to pay again.1
