How can I block off this sink U bend? Is there a special size blanking disk or bung?

Hi all
As mentioned in other threads we are having a new kitchen. To save money I am ripping the old Kitchen out myself. I have come across some things that I am not sure of. One of them is this food waste extraction unit (ITEM D). I need to remove just this but we are still using the sink for 4 more weeks. Therefore, when I have removed this item I will need to block up the U bend where this item is connected (C). I know some might think I'm lazy and tell me to google it but I need to get it right the first time because if I don't get the correct size blanking plate/disk/bung etc we are without a sink until I sort it.
So, please would you guys take a look at the photo? I want to remove the whole item 'D' but you can see that it is connected to the sink waste at 'C'. Therefore, when I have removed D I will need to blank off point 'C'. What item do I need, please?
Thanks in advance all.

Thanks in advance all.One of these -and one of these -I would use a compression coupler in this situation because the diameter of nominally 40mm waste pipe can vary a fair bit, and there's no guarantee a push-fit fitting will get a good seal. Solvent weld in this case is pointless as you will be removing the whole lot in the near future. The compression coupler and plug can be kept and reused if you want.2 -
