Morning all,Gers I was shocked at the devastation, especially seeing the drone footage. That's going to be a long, long job & sounds like life will be difficult for many- thinking of all those affected. When the road at the front of ours & hillside collapsed a few years ago and we were flooded, it took almost a year and a half before the road was open again. Camelot, one thing I'll never forget is the horror of opening the cellar door to find water lapping at the next to the top step ( & there are 12 )but it gave us a chance to move a bit of furniture before it reached the ground floor, where it got to about 18". Strangely when the road did collapse it was like pulling the plug out so we weren't left with stagnant water. They closed the culvert off too when they did the road so fingers crossed it shouldnt flood inside again. My hairdresser was meant to be here now but sent me a message earlier that I didn't see until an hour ago- too busy tidying up
Rearranged for Wed. now. Tea is left over curry It was a busy footballing weekend for the DGC, quite a long trip on the motorway with DGDs team yesterday morning as it was a cup match, they lost, so did DGS, so did our team- boo!
I may well carry on with my card making this afternoon.Hope the poorlies feel better soon, hugs to those in need x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)8 -
Gers, I wonder if these landslip are an unfortunate outcome of all that work on the Rest, the pressure to collapse has to go somewhere? Perhaps the new ferryman will reduce their charges when they have regular travellers, or do a season-ticket 🤞2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Just a quick one to say I am still here, lots of childcare ATM so I'm pretty busy and then tired. Enforced rest for a few days from Wednesday because of my foot surgery. Quite looking forward to it.8

Perhaps the new ferryman will reduce their charges when they have regular travellers, or do a season-ticket 🤞There are seven roads affected by landslips as well as the two on the A83. Unfortunately it's the nature of the local topography combined with the extreme rainfall in one fell swoop. We get heavy rain at the best of times, this wasn't that! Even without the landslides the local river burst it's banks in so many places, it must be heartbreaking for those affected.I remember your flooding Rosy, it was so awful for you and your neighbours. It's good to read that the remedial works have been successful. The postie got through today, on Saturday she had to turn back and only made it home via a long series of haul roads in a convoy. For now, all's well though rain is again forecast for tomorrow. My scratch lunch was delicious. I've been enjoying savoy cabbage recently, though it does go on for ever. I slice it thinly, fry it with a bit of onion and then add in carraway seeds. Now I'm off to do some reading to de-stress myself.

Hi everyone and thanks for the start nmlc x
I’m in the office today. Had a late-ish night as we were at a friends’ house for a curry. I had my sensible hat on and was taxi for the evening. Was up super early today, so will no doubt feel that tonight!
DD has been ‘let go’ by the school as they want someone trained in phonics. She got the call yesterday. She was a bit upset – no-one said anything to her on Friday and it wasn’t her first choice to work in a school (with no offence to anyone who does) – if she can, she’d like to work in CAMHS, so that’s today’s mission, to log onto NHS jobs and search for something else.
So sorry for the weather woes @Gers and @camelot1001 – just dreadful about the RABT - hope you both stay safe x
Glad you enjoyed your day out to Harrogate @IzzyBee – lovely that you cheered that lady up – I reckon we all need to be more IzzyBee.
Glad you enjoyed Bath @WickedLady4 – lovely city
You were very restrained at Ally Pally @-taff – I wouldn’t recognise JC if I tripped over her, although I did chat to the Cross Stitch Guild lady – Jane Greenoff – well I paid her for my items anyway lol! Would have gone to the Prosecco bar, but a bit sad by myself. Next year we should co-ordinate our visit lol!
Hugs to all the poorlies and have a good day (what’s left of it)

Coxy that's awful about your daughter, they shouldn't have used her like that! I would be demanding an excellent reference!Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.
