Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc.
Dry here for a change, can't see it lasting! I ventured out to look in the cellar yesterday and the water would be up to my knees if I cared to go in, it does flood every now and again but I've never seen anything like this. The water comes up through the concrete floor so will eventually find it's way out again.
Lazy day again yesterday, I've been struggling with extreme tiredness later, may phone the doc for an appointment as it's really not normal!
DW just finished, I forgot to put it on last night and the WM has nearly finished it's cycle so will hang that on the pully. Yesterday's bedding is just about dry so will put that away later once it's had an airing in the TD.
Hope you are all well and have a good day. Take care. XX11 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC, hope you have a good day at work. It's still dark, but seems to be an ok morning, certainly not cold. We've had a quiet weekend, weren't out at all yesterday, and on Saturday I was only out for shopping.I must go to the bank this morning though, I realised yesterday that my debit card is about to expire, and I haven't received a new one, and I should have done by now. I don't know if it's languishing in a sorting office somewhere, wrongly delivered, or what. Anyway there's been no untoward activity on the account related to the card, so that's something.Hope everyone has a good day today, take care folks.12

Morning folks. The main road down to Glasgow is still closed because of landslips in two places. That means a diversion of about 30 miles each way, probably over 90 minutes extra. The only road to Oban will be closed for months, an enormous hill has completely collapsed. It's been a weekend of devastation here. No injuries to people but huge damage to our infrastructure, life will be a little more challenging. The road into town which was flooded drained overnight so I was able to refuel my car and buy milk. I've got enough food in the freezer to keep me going until the local Co-op can be restocked. The place where I go to my Monday exercise class is now not reachable, as shown in the drone footage, so I may do a small routine here at home. I have a set of dumbbells and resistance bands to replicate the various things we normally do.There's the weekly banking to be done then some stock taking too. I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Monday to all.11

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It promises to be another lovely day, tomorrow also, before the rain returns for Wednesday. As long as it isn't the torrential stuff GERS and CAMELOT got.
I need to pop in town this morning but when I get back I really must make an attempt to tidy up the front garden. I started it a little while back but circumstances and Covid put the job on hold. So now it's as bad as ever. I am determined that next Spring I will get something done to make life easier for me out there. How many autumns have I said that!!
I coloured my hair last night but as I couldn't get my usual shade I tried a different one. Oh dear I'm worried about what it's going to look like in daylight as under electric light it looked a bit fierce!! ( the phrase mutton dressed as lamb comes to mind!!)
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or those with worries or woes. Take care all xx

Morning all. Dry down here and a promising day, weather wise, unlike up by Gers and Camelot. So sorry to hear of all the floods, landslips and devastation caused by the weather.
My weekend in Bath was lovely. Warm, dry and sunny so didn't need the coat I carried round with me all day! By chance I met an old friend who had semi retired and moved to Wiltshire so that was an added bonus.
Today I need to catch up with some housework and maybe do a bit of baking. I managed to get a bag of the seeds I used to make crackers recently so will have another go but roll them more thinly and hope they stay crisp.
Good wishes to all11 -
Morning all! Dull, grey and nippy here. Yesterday was predictably warm and also sunny at the knit and stitch show. I bought one piece of fabric, and five bits of metallic trim so I was very good. I also got to meet Janie Crow, I'm afraid I swooned a bit, not helped by two lglasses of prosecco so I probably sounded like an idiot. Plans for the day are lunch out with friends and tidying, putting away and starting a new to go pile. I've found a new recycling/upcycling place so they can have my stuff too, I'm up for anything that can be reused to be reused. And then I have a prject to do. We bought a kind of little unit from the charity shop before we went away for me to put my computer and printer [ bottom shelf slides out] so I have to sand that and cover it with fabric. It will stop the little girl from exploring under the current shoe bench the computer and tv sit in and on. I have tomatoes to roast with garlic, whizz and put in the freezer too and the plumber to call. I should also shred some paper, I've run out for the compost. Oh well, one thing at a time isn't it?Gers, how awful for you and the poeple who live there. I see that nothing has been implemented yet to deal with landslides there, which must be annoying in itself if it's aknown and reoccuring problem. Glad you're safe and no one was hurt. Izzy, glad you had a good day out and it sounds interesting, plus you got to meet new people and have future days out now in the bag
result! TA I second Izzys advice, shall you wear purple with a red hat that doesn't go?
camelot, hope the dcs find a benign reason for tiredness, haven't had covid recently? Scarlet, best way really, relax, etc, ready for any further onlsaughts
WL, it is a lovely place and I recommend the American Museum just for the quilts alone but expecially if there's a Kafe Fasset exhibition there, they're so colourful and good. Nice to meet unexpected people too.
Have a good day all if you can, enjoy life though whatever...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9 -

Glad you're safe and no one was hurt. The Scottish government has spent £26 million to put in place mitagation processes on the Rest and Be Thankful. The work has been ongoing for at least seven years and it was only earlier this Spring that traffic restrictions were lifted and two way traffic on it started again. We've had traffic lights / convoy systems on the top stretch for all of those seven or so years. Now it seems that we are to have either a tunnel or a canopy there, however the worst slip (see the video I linked to earlier) is no-where near RABT and the other major one is about at the bottom of the Rest. Neither of these places have had slips before. The amount of rain which fell was exceptional, approx 170mm (6 and a bit inches) in just 24 hours. One enterprising company has set up a shuttle service across the sea to take people back and forth from the yacht marina which is cut off. It'll help some people who are stuck for getting to work, but at a price!I've cooked up some potatoes which I'll fry for lunch with the liver. My banking is done, some money shifted around as I made a hole in one account by paying for the car repair the other week. The rain is very light but the sky is still grey, perhaps there's more to dump.

Morning all
its set to be a nice day here which is lovely yesterday on our walk we were too hot in t- shirts and when we sat outside the pub on the way back it was like a summers day 😃 need to make the most of it as we are due rain from Wednesday onwards.
My client has cancelled again today, she has net been for a few weeks, she suffers with her health poor thing. Rob is supposed to be coming tomorrow he is joining me on a Mon / Tuesday going forward and I will have him privately Wed/ Thursday, I think his mum is panicking about it all as he will need to get a taxi here and back but he will very soon get used to it. She phoned me Saturday I did not recognise the number so picked it up, she was on the phone 20 minutes 🙄 I must put her name and number into the house phone so I can choose not to pick up if needs be.
I have a wash on the go and another to go in after they should dry well today. I will get out for my walk later with the dogs .
Camelot didn’t you have covid recently ? It may just be the after effects but make a Dr appointment to make sure xxx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning everyone
It rained most of yesterday here but it's dry this morning and the sun is forecast to pop out later, so I have my towels in washing and will get them out on the line before I go out to work. Tomorrow I'll do my bedding before the weather changes again.
Nice lunch at mam and dads yesterday, then we played dominos with little one. She thinks she is so grown up because I taught her to play 'proper' dominoes, instead of the ones with pictures on.
She came up home with me for a couple of hours and we sat and played lots of her games.
Camelot - perhaps you're not quite recovered from Covid?
I'm going to hang this washing out. Hope everyone has a good day today x9
