    You might be able to use 3rd party mandate. It is not as comprehensive as POA but allows you to do certain things whilst the account holder has capacity. Once they lose capacity, then you will need to register a POA.

    Edited to add: I have never set one up but may and I say may require fewer verification steps and ID documents than registering a POA.

    2nd edit: the reason I mention 3rd party mandate is because I don't know if the document that proves your address has to match the address on the POA. I went through this in 2022 but not as an expat. So have forgotten the details. I raise this incase it causes you any problems.
