In what way are they making it big? Approved garage collecting vehicle and giving courtesy car is standard practice for any middle of the road or better policies. It wont be the TP asking for that, the claims handler that took the call is targeted on getting customers to accept the approved garage and in part they do that through the slick process.0 -
In practical terms there is little difference to you between 50/50 and 100% blame. Both are fault claims, both will affect your no claims discount in the same way, and both will have exactly the same impact on next year's premium.Saceiu said:

The only difference would be if you are claiming for damage to your own car with a 50/50 settlement you will be able to get half your excess back from the other party; if you are 100% to blame you will end up paying your full excess.
As I said your excess only comes into play if you are claiming for damage to your own car - there is no excess to pay on the third party but if any claim. So unless there is damage to your car (not clear from your post) there is little point getting too worked up about the difference between 50/50 and being 100% to blame. Being 100% not to blame would be a different matter of course.
