Change mind about replacement

Hi guys

I received some faulty sofas from SCS

I was offered a refund but chose to have a replacement of my order, however their service has been shocking and this has been messed about. I would rather cancel the replacement and have a refund. I’m still within my 30 days of delivery - can they refuse this? (Yes I know I should ask but I want to know if they can legally refuse)

  • Hello OP

When there is a problem with the goods within the first 30 days you may reject for a refund, if you or the trader proposes a repair or replacement which is agreed upon you enter the waiting period which pauses the 30 time until such time as the repair or replacement is carried out.

If the repair or replacement still has issues you may then reject.

I assume the usual requirement for the trader to carry out the repair/replacement within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience still applies but I don't see any mention of what happens if you decide to simply change your mind about a repair/replacement and so would assume it doesn't apply. :)
  • It was going to be another 7/8 weeks for a replacement so I decided that was going to be too long. They’ve accepted my cancellation and will confirm tomorrow
