Suddenly seeing adds again, despite AdBlock

I've had AdBlock for years, working perfectly but today I suddenly see adds in the right hand panel of my Outlook pages, where the panel is usually blank.

I've checked that AdBlock is still running. The little red hand icon was actually missing from my toolbar, so I reinstated it and checked that AdBlock is running for 'all sites'.

Curiously, if I go to Outlook and click on the AdBlock icon, it says "Blocked Adds: 2 on this site"  but adds are still showing.

Perhaps I need to reinstall AdBlock?

Edit: I've tried a full shut down and restart.

get rid of AdBlock.  Use uBlock Origin.  It will be better.

    Indeed.
Hard to believe perhaps but Adblock behaves like a cuckoo in the nest. It throws the other ads out and inserts (paid for) ads of its own!

    Do what @wongataa says.

Don't forget that the ad companies are constantly trying to find ways around ad blocking software , it's a constant battle

Youtube are constantly throwing their toys out of their pram over them
