PCN for parking at work premises

In February, I and a work colleague were on work leave and agreed to meet up for lunch. We decided to meet up at one of our local branch close to where we both live and have our cars parked there before we walk down to have our lunch. Let me mention that we use branded vans at work mostly. However, as employees, we are authorized to park our private vehicles at anytime.

A week after we both got a PCN notice to say we have parked unauthorized on a private land. We applealed the PCN and wrote to the company (Private Parking Solutions) to say we were both employees of the company by supplying our names and employee number and that we are allowed to park our private vehicles within any work premises nationwide. My colleague had his PCN cancelled. Unfortunately, mine wasnt and instead I got a response to say I would have to pay the £100 fine and £60 if paid within 2weeks because I wasnt displaying a parking permit or a work ID card.

I couldnt understand why I would be treated differently to my colleague albeit we both got the same PCN. I ignored all subsequent letters they sent and just last month I got a letter from their solicitor that they were starting legal proceddings to recover the unpaid debt (which is now £170) or dispute the debt within 30days by filling an online form.  Failure to do neither may result in commencement of court proceedings and CCJ brought forward.

How do I go about this? I
s it too late to have anything done?

Thanks in advacnce

How is a ccj brought forward?
Instruct your work to cancel it . It's as simple as that
I assume your letter is from Gladstones

I bet you £50 it does not say that!
You need to be a bit more on the ball with this and should have sorted this out with your company months ago!

Told you it didn't say "fine" now get on and get your firm to cancel it.
In addition, as this looks to be a car park that is not open to the public and by authorisation only there is no offer to park so a private parking company cannot do anything, the land owner would have to take you to court for trespass unless I am mistaken

The land is owned by my work place. I have attempted several times to get it cancelled. But because its my private car and not a  company car, they are not willing to help

You need to go higher up the food chain then. If you are a union member, get your rep involved. Dig out the agreement that says you can park your private vehicle on your employer's land. Kick up a stink.

Or just defend the court claim and get it struck out, as most people should hope to do now, with the silver bullet of the CEL v Chan appeal case that we hope newbies are keeping up with and reading about.

    Dead easy to defend.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
