Cannot connect to a human to make a claim on anothers insurance.

I need to claim from another drivers insurance that hit me. However, every time I call I am on hold for 2 hours and then it cuts off automatically. Its Esure car insurance. Are they a scam?

Contact your own insurer and let them deal with it, you have to inform them anyway.

You can't claim on the other driver's policy as such.

But if the other driver has reported the incident to their insurer, and accepted liability - the other driver's insurer might be happy to deal with you directly (as it can sometimes save them money).

If you gave the other driver your phone number, and they pass it on to their insurer - their insurer might phone you.

There are pros and cons to doing it that way - but I've always been happy dealing with the other party's insurer.

Have you tried phoning their 'claims' number? But if the other driver hasn't reported the incident to them, they won't discuss anything with you.

Why do you need to claim from them? You'd normally claim from your own insurance who will counter claim against the TPI, unless you have Third Party Only insurance?

Esure are not a "scam", founded by Peter Wood (same as Direct Line, GoCompare and a few other overseas businesses)

Or you just send your claim to the driver and ask them to pass it on to their insurer.

When I had a small bump a year ago I claimed from the other drivers insurance directly after I was rammed and he drove off  The insurers were happy to raise a claim even though I had no policy with them and accepted liability on their clients behalf after looking at dash cam footage.

In the end I went to my own insurers as the tpi were a nightmare to get hold of .
