As we reach the 20th week of waiting for probate I was wondering how long other people have been waiting. Any information you can offer would be great!

Might be better to post it on the probate board?

It can easily take 6 months or more
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

I applied early October 2022 , finally approved end of may 2023

That included a couple of questions from them slowing down the process

Approx 8 weeks, applied Feb 23 - granted April 23. IHT had been settled in full prior to the probate application.
  • Probate granted June 2022. Took 6 weeks, applied myself online.  Very straightforward excepted estate, very low value estate as house and most savings held jointly and simply passed automatically to me.  It's a bit of a lottery though! I believe if any queries are raised by the probate office it will take much longer
