The need for a financial advisor really depends on your comfort level and financial knowledge. If you feel confident in handling your finances independently, you probably don't need to continue paying for a financial advisor's services. However, if you really feel as if you need guidance or have complex financial needs, then maybe it would make sense to get one. I would suggest to evaluate your financial goals, risk tolerance, and the complexity of your investments and then make an informed decision.

If you are going to stay using an adviser then at least make sures it is an IFA and not an FA.

I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

Out of curiosity when you say "bottled it" what were your concerns that led you to stay with your advisor?

Do you think you're getting value for moneys worth or is it concerns around taking on the responsibility yourself or a bit of a mix?

    Hi,
I have known my financial adviser over 40 odd years and thinking about it, over the costing versus the money, i have invested he has done me proud.
So sorry if I wasted your time guys but thought it was worth the question.
Ironically last week he phoned me for a catch-up, he is not one of you guys? LoL

IFAs will obviously encourage planning for the future, but early November seems a tad premature for festive greetings!
