How does that work out for your particular split of electricity?dealyboy said:EDF have published new rates for their EDF Essentials fixes (05/10/23).

That off peak rate is drifting, albeit only a penny. For me with my circa 70% off peak use, I am pleased I fixed in August, which was a bit of a gamble but with hindsight, now appears to have been the right thing.dealyboy said:EDF have published new rates for their EDF Essentials fixes (05/10/23).

On both new essentials fixes the night rate has gone down and the day rate stayed the same for the Midlands region. Glad I cancelled my Sep24v2 fix within the cooling off period after seeing how much the night rate dropped for 1st Oct standard variable0

I am currently 67% day, 33% night, but that will significantly change during winter (+ cold periods) and I anticipate overall my yearly split will be 40% day, 60% night.
I am still on the standard variable tariff (SVT) day 39.92p night 8.57p SC 44.03p, I expect the downside (increases) to be limited by future Ofgem price caps.
@dunstonh made the wise choice as per usual (he's not a gambler ... but I am
and I enjoy the ride anyway
