  • If it isn't a business seller, they might not want to sell to you now that you've asked if returns are free!
Yep, if OP had sent that message to me they'd have been blocked instantly. Sadly this is typical of the entitlement of eBay buyers these days... buyer can't be bothered to find out which mats fit their car, so they just look to make it the seller's problem instead!

    Completely agree!

Where have I said I sent a message to the seller to ask about free returns.

Where did I say you had? But that's what you're asking here, isn't it?

How is it a buyers problem when a seller doesn't know what they are selling
Believe it or not, it's not a private seller's responsibility to know everything about some item they're selling.

Can I have your eBay ID so I can block you please?

  • I'm sorry, I misunderstood your first post, imalwaystired, and thought you had said that you'd asked the seller if the return would be free. I can see you actually asked about whether the mats would fit. I can't imagine the seller would block you for asking that, unless they're especially touchy and feel like all the information required is given in the listing. They may be ignoring your question because they don't know the answer.
Bottom line is the same though, if the listing doesn't state free returns and the seller doesn't state that the mats will fit your car, you won't be able to return the mats for free if they don't fit. It's the seller's responsibility to make sure that their description is accurate, and the buyer's responsibility to make sure that the item is suitable for their needs. If you don't know if they'll fit and the seller hasn't said that they'll fit, you're taking the risk of having to pay for the return if you buy them.
It kind of is the buyer's problem if they can see that the seller doesn't know what they're selling and they buy the product anyway.
