Tried opening an Ulster Loyalty savings account as it stated that you can live in England to apply but the application process then states that you have to visit a branch to apply. Confused!!

Are you trying to open a joint account? That needs a branch visit.
Opened this account some months ago OK and I'm UK resident (it was a slow process though).0 -
I indicated it was for a sole account on the application process

Is this an inherent part of the application process, or have you perhaps failed an ID check that was unable to validate your ID electronically? Do you have any screenshots (redacted of personal data)?Sprout22 said:Tried opening an Ulster Loyalty savings account as it stated that you can live in England to apply but the application process then states that you have to visit a branch to apply. or was it asking for your nearest branch, like when I was applying for a current account ... if so try one in Northern Ireland (I chose Castlewellan BT31 9DB). 0 -
You could simply follow the instructions given for applying for this account from out with NI:dealyboy said:

- During the application process you will be asked to 'find a branch' you will need to key the sort code 980060 and select Belfast City Office.

Or open a Coventry BS account instead with a simpler process!

I doubt it really matters, it's likely that they expect people from GB not to know NI geography and therefore selecting the main branch in Belfast is easiest.flaneurs_lobster said:
