Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, wind seems to have died down, air was much fresher yesterday, forecast is for a warmer weekend - we'll see.
Dinner last night was gammon, egg, chips and beans. Chicken for tonight.
Half day at work today - have jobs to do this afternoon.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Very wet and windy this morning, travelling to work will be a challenge. I was up and out very early yesterday as the car was going to the menders - all fixed now hopefully. So much for me not spending anything this month!
What a good person you are Ruby, I hope Rob gets SW help.
Glad you've managed to get out TA, take it easy.
Hugs to anyone not feeling too good.
Nothing much going on here, work is very busy as usual with a big admin job on the go - keeps my brain working!
Stay safe in the rain, take care. XX9 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMlC.It seems to be fine outside, still dark of course, but not blowing a gale or pouring with rain. Yesterday was a nice blowy day, I got some towels dry outside. The curtains arrived yesterday and I unpacked them and laid them out straight to get any creases out, so it'll be the Big Hang today.Ruby, it does sound worrying about Rob and his Mum, the food she asked you to get wasn't much. Maybe there are money problems. That was a good point that Flamingo made about contacting the SW.Will you have your Covid jab then, TA? We had ours together with the flu jab a couple of weeks ago, and I felt a bit unwell in the evening but was ok the nest day. I think it was having the two together, I'm usually ok with one.My Ds who is a practice manager says they'll shove anything into your arm just to keep the queue moving, but I'm fairly certain he's joking!I've been wondering about Taff and Bella, Taff was going to Italy like someone said. Hope they're both ok.In fact, hope everyone is ok, and has a good day, take care folks.10

Morning folks. Another chilly start here too but at least it looks fine. And I had a better sleep too after a rubbish one.
Not a lot planned for today. The highlight is an Oc*do delivery this afternoon. It was booked at short notice and all the morning slots had gone. I am already thinking of stuff I've forgotten to order! I have had to bin a bit of fridge stuff as I was so off my food (unlike me!!) over the last week or so. Mostly fruit and salad stuff which looked very unpalatable. I was going to make a batch of soup to use some of it up but ended up making Lentil, tomato and basil which used none of it, other than the last of the basil.
I got the bed changed yesterday but the weather was so hit and miss it ended up festooning the back bedroom. That will be to gather up and put away this morning.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and MIA. Happy curtain hanging day Scarlet and re the Covid jab question you asked, even after getting infected they still recommend a booster, but to wait a month. So the end of October is earmarked for that. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning folks.Rain has been battering down all night and still going strong. The forecast is for a dreadful day so I'm pleased that I don't have to go out for anything. Yesterday we had long periods of bright sunshine and then short sharp bouts of torrential rain, the bright sunshine stopped. The glorious sunset view I had the other day has been obliterated by thick grey cloud. My physio session wasn't so satisfactory as my usual chap had been held up so I was given a different one who clearly hadn't read my notes or understood what my problem is.In the afternoon I had a nice meeting with the head of the charity which runs the local pool. I've offered my experience and skills to help support the staff so am looking forward to that.Nothing in the agenda for today, well, at least nothing taxing. I want to add some links to my monthly spreadsheet which'll keep me occupied for at least an hour. 😂 Then I have GBBO to watch.
I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Wednesday to all.9 -
Morning everyone I didn’t manage to get on yesterday my hubby had a fall Monday afternoon and a neighbour’s husband helped him home he had been getting sharp pains in his new knee and it just give way he wasn’t going to tell me but the neighbours caught me so I made him go to the doctors yesterday and they sent him to the hospital for bloods and X-ray and someone to see him as they were frightened it could be some sort of infection but everything came back clear and the doctor said he’s trying to do to much and it’s still early days I thought when we went away he was struggling I think he expected to walk further than he did and when we came home for all I walked a lot further than him my legs and knees were aching and I’m used to walking miles a day but we were on sand and different surfaces so anyway he’s had his warning. Off to work in a minute it’s chilly today chicken stew made for tonight just to heat up . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Morning all Not been on for a while I just needed a break from things so i am back now feeling a bit more refreshed things have been very much same except for DGS being rushed to hospital the other day i thought he wasn't right so I took him A&E expecting to be told i was over fussy but he was struggling with his breathing so a couple of days with oxygen ,antibiotics and inhalers and he seems to be on the mend mind you the cost of hospital parking made me weep DD stayed over 12 hrs and it was £18 i swapped so she could come home to get a shower and a few hours sleep and it was £8.00 goodness knows what the final total will be . Dinner tonight pie n mash
izzy I hope DH is resting today
Gers Hoping your usual fella is back next week
TA Glad you are back up and about
Scarlet Lovely new curtains i am always too scared to order any as i am sure they won't look right
Camelot I hope the weather lets up for your commute
Ruby Thats awful my DD1 is an adult SW and she says that so often things go un-noticed or un challenged as people dont see the value in saying something some things she has told me make me cry so you have done the right thing who knows what goes on behind closed doors

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
I too didn't get on yesterday. Combination of being in the office (as train strike today) and going to the cinema to see A Haunting in Venice in the evening. Good film, dark and typical AC murder mystery where everyone looks suspiciously guilty!
Sorry to hear of your DH's fall @IzzyBee, hope he's doing okay x
Sorry too about the young person @Florenceem - so sad x
I think Bella has her hands full with DGS some days, so probably struggles to post. I too thought taff would be back from Italy by now?
We have a bolognaise risotto tonight - new SW recipe, and I'm collecting some picture frames from Wa!trose at lunchtime. Apart from that, nothing of interest happening here!
Have a good day all,

Morning all, it's not raining here, for a change! DS2 just called after dropping DGS off at school, wanted to swap vans with Dh. I don't think he's doing much today as the ground is too wet atm to carry on with the flagging job he's been doing & is coming down with a cold like me. Dh has gone to get his hair cut but will pop round to his job to check on the decorator and tiler.I've just had my delivery, mostly all present and correct & all put away now.We don't need to pick up DGS today, much to his annoyance he's going to after school club
We swapped days yesterday with his DM so he could come to the match with us last night. At half time we went to the front to applaud the girls/women team walking round the pitch for the 'It's her game too' event - the daughter of DS mate was taking part and DGS spotted her and was shouting for her , she saw us and gave a big grin and a wave so he was pleased.
Plenty to choose from for tea now so I'll decide later.Florence, so sad about the young person.Izzy hope DH takes it easy for a bit longer now.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10 -
Morning all
Dry and bright here and set in for the day I have a wash about to finish so that can go on the line. Thanks for all the comments re Rob, they are still not well so I don’t have him today or tomorrow hopefully he will be better by Monday, it’s not a case of her not having money she is quite well off she gets a lot of benefits for Rob as he has a profound LD and needs a higher level of care, she is very controlling with him and he is on a very strange diet, it’s not that she is getting older and confused as she has always been like that. I have reported my concerns so hopefully the sw team are on to it, I need to take a step back I think as it’s affecting me a lot.
Nit sure about dinner tonight I will go and look in the freezer after this, I need to have a tidy and then take the dogs out for a walk. This afternoon I will go and do a shop.
Izzy hope your DH is ok xx
Bella nice to see you posting I hope your lovely DGS is ok xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
