PCN From Enfield Council

Hi All,

I am back with a new parking PCN from Enfield Council.

Not my fault this time i can blame it on my partner.

There is a road in Tottenham in North London which has in the past couple weeks a Bus Gat has been placed there, i personally havent come across these before.

These are one of the biggest traps i have seen and this is an obvious money earner for the council.

In the video evidence there was 3 cars which drove down during the clip in the space of 30seconds. This camera was clock in 5 figures a day with ease.

the road in questions is Bull Lane, N18 and is around half down it. Annoyingly on Google Maps it hasnt been updated.

But here are some links in questions:

Basically it is found half way down the road and stops traffic going through that area. Its a very strange one as you ultimately need to turn off above that zone or below it to not get a ticket. So if you keep travelling and you're not a bus you get a fine.

In all the years this must be the worst one i have seen.

I am due to scout the area for signage but i can only imagine there is not much to begin with until you are at the point of no return and travelling through that bus gate.

I have to appeal this one.

Do let me know if you have any thoughts.

I'll attach a picture here too, it is so new the barriers are still up where the road works took place.

thanks for your input

As we major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets. Register there but please note that a Hotmail address won't work - try using a throwaway Gmail account instead if you do have trouble registering, and post a new thread; here's your link:

Read the sticky 'Read this before you post' as well as reading through some of the other threads there ahead of posting your own details, to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate), as they need to see all the small print.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • just got pcn for travel here BOTH directions. Brand new car less than 150 miles with totally up to date sat nav. This 'bus lane' is not marked on Sat Nav !!!  traveled into London totally reliant on directions. Car is Toyota BZ4X - new model, electric... I'm being asked for £260 potentially for an error on a Saturday afternoon that is not my fault.. I actually stopped and checked Sat Nav before proceeding through !!!. There is not adequate warning before proceeding down Bull Lane. At no point does it indicate 'no through road'...  Have I got adequate grounds to appeal these tickets?

As mentioned in the second post above, post your query over on the Free Traffic and Legal Advice forum, instead of on here

@neilly500, are you really saying that you didn't see those signs? Looks like you missed the road markings too.

Or perhaps you are saying that you actually checked your sat nav and on that basis decided to ignore the signs?

Wow! Not just ignored the signs once...

Looks like there is a fault with your new car. Clearly the sat nav is not 'totally up to date'.

I don't understand the relevance of that.
