Puregym Carpark PCNs - Euro Car Parks

Hi All,

So as a member of puregym they allow you to enter your car reg into a system upon arrival to the gym which then gives you free 2hrs parking. I go to gym very regularly and sometimes I get very close to / go over the limit of time allowed in the carpark. I got a ticket that suggested I had overstayed by over an hour, honestly that seemed unlikely to me and I was going to appeal it but then I had a search on this forum and the advice given with regards to Euro Car Parks seemed to be just to ignore, so I decided to ignore. They have escalated their letters now to the point of "Final Notification Letter" I'm assuming this is just their standard practice but I thought I might as well ask you learned folk.

Unfortunately I have recently received another PCN NTK, on this one I have apparently stayed for 2hrs6mins, whereas I am allowed 2hrs (overstay of 6mins) with my gym membership. Does the 15min grace period not apply to white lists from gym membership? Should I again ignore this NTK or should I look to appeal? Frustratingly as I become more committed in the gym the risk of these PCNs gets greater and greater.

Many thanks for any help in advance.

  • Find yourself a gym that doesn't have the threat of an added £100 parking fee. Complain to them and explain that they risk losing your membership and probably that of many others if they can't control their agents.

Have you tried Plan A yet? Have you complained to the gym and asked them together the PCN cancelled. They can do this at any time up to service of a county court claim. Write to your MP and ask them to intervene.

please can you state where you saw the advice to ignore? as this will need altering.
Ignore has not been advised for many years now.

Have you complained to the gym?

You could reply to the Final Notification telling them that they failed to add the mandatory BPA 10 minute grace period to the 2 hours that gym members are allowed.  If they do not cancel the PCN you will complain to the gym, your MP and the BPA for CoP breach.

You can respond by using their complaints page.

Thanks, I have to admit I didn't see that advice on a sticky thread or anything - was on random threads. I can't exactly remember them now but I'm sure I could look them up. They probably were not from this year but I'm sure one at least was post-2021.

Either way I've not complained to the gym about either ticket, sounds like I should do this. The PCN where I've overstayed for an hour (full stay of 3hrs allegedly) may be hard to get argue.

Thanks guys. I will complain to the gym and then go from there. At least I know not to ignore and now I can be proactive. That is vital information. Many thanks.

Complain to the PPC too as I said. Tell them to deal with the complaint and NOT pass the case to debt collectors as it is disputed.

You need to do this now.
