Is the 18185 override number not available today?

Options
Could someone try 18185 and 0808 1 703 703 override numbers for me to see if they are working.

I suspect BT may have blocked them.

Still not working, BT must have blocked it.  Has 18185 got a helpline or email?

Looks like I will have to move from pay as you go at 26p/minute,  to BTs Unlimited call plan.  They seem to have the exact one for £10/month and £13/month underneath, there's no detail what the difference is between them

  • I found the help bit, it seems to be with 18185 and 18866 not BT.

The difference between PAYG and Unlimited is £13 , the difference between standalone broadband ( no phone number , no possible incoming or outgoing including 999 is and broadband with PAYG is £5 )

so although PAYG costs £5 , that is effectively the cost of providing a telephone service in the first place ,  if there is a £10 option presumably that’s the 700mins plan, as there are only 3 plans , PAYG (£5 including the phone line ) , 700mins ££?, or Unlimited (£18 but £5 is the phone line , so £13 for the minutes )
  • 18185 is working now.

I don't use £13 worth of calls a month at 2p per min which is what 18185 charge, so I'll stay with the present PAYG option. I guess most people use their smartphone contract nowadays, so perhaps these override numbers aren't used as much as they used to be.

For £5, you can get unlimited UK calls on PAYG so that should be your marker.
